2018 Roundup: Almost a professional Pro

Posted on: 25/10/2018 by: Emma Deary Comments: Leave a comment

Expectations Well, what an eventful season it has been, full of highs and also lows. It’s probably been the toughest year of triathlon I’ve had since I started racing 4 years ago. I had lots of preconceived ideas coming into this season. I figured I’d fly in every race, finishing in the top 3, and

Wet and Windy Weymouth 2018

Posted on: 05/10/2018 by: Emma Deary Comments: Leave a comment

Ironman 70.3 Weymouth is the only race in 2018 I also raced in 2017. I was hoping to have a few more races where I could compare my performance year on year but illness meant I missed Grafman and I didn’t fancy the revised bike course up a mountain in Dublin. Repeating it was the

    It's race week 😀 Can't wait to go back to @outl It's race week 😀
Can't wait to go back to @outlawtriathlon Holkham half on Sunday. A clear time to beat from 2017
Good luck to everyone racing. It's going to be an amazing event 🤩
    Season update: From the end of June 2022 I will no Season update: From the end of June 2022 I will not hold a 🇬🇧pro licence until I can requalify. Unfortunately, due to the way things have played out in the first 6 months of this year I haven't been able to validate it (finish within a certain % time of the winner).
*
Before my accident I was in the best shape I've ever been but things happen for a reason. I'm just waiting to find out what that reason is.
*
I'm still faster and stronger than I've ever been but the Pro field doesn't hang about waiting for you you. These girls are super fast. I'm just not a 70.3 specialist. With not many ironman distance races to do in the first half of the year (and my accident) its meant I haven't been able to do a full by the deadline.
*
I'm so grateful to everyone that has invested their time and money in me, believing in me. I'm just keeping you on your toes 😂
*
My journey does not end here.
This is just a rather unfortunate bump.
*
This is not the end. I will continue to fight and give it my all, as I always do. My aim has always been to be the best I can be. Whether that's back as a Pro or in the age group ranks. While I'm still improving, I'm not stopping just yet.
*
I'll see a lot of you at @outlawtriathlon Holkham in a couple of weeks 😀. Give me an extra cheer please, I think I might need the boost 😂😀
    Challenge Gdansk. I would highly recommend it. Lov Challenge Gdansk. I would highly recommend it. Lovely setting, great course, nice people. Just not my day today. Legs didn't feel like waking up which is rather frustrating. I've not had that feeling before.
*
Also had a little surprise when my period started this morning. It only being my third one in 2.5years since having Little E. They've now decided (and much to my relief) to come back regularly - ish. So an added dynamic/ new body feeling to get used to 🤦‍♀️
*
All in all a good training day out in the sunshine 🌞😎
*
Now I'm very much looking forward to getting home to Little E 🥰
